What is input

In put is any data and instrutions enteed into the memory of a computer . As shown in figure 5-1, peple have a variety of options for entering data or instrations into a computer.
As discussed text, numbers, images , audio , and video. Once data is in memory , the computer interprets and executes instrutions to process the data into information. Ins trucations entered into the computer can be in the form of programs , command , and user responses.
. A program is series of instrcations that tells a computer what to do and how to do it.
When a programmer writes a program , he or she enters the program into the computer by using a keyboard ,mouse, or other input device. The programmer then stores the program in a file that a user can execute (run). When a user runs a prrogram , the computer loads the program from a storage medium into memory . Thus, a program is entered into a computers memory.
Programs respond to commands that a user issues . A command is an instruction that causes a program to perform a specific action . users issue commands by typinfg or pressing keys on the keyborad clicking a mouse button , speaking into a microphone , or toching as area on a screen .
A user response is as imstruction a user issues by replying to a question displayed by a program . A response to the question instructs the program to perfrom certain actions.
